Incense Burning with a Sieve – Gentle Warmth, Full Fragrance, and Perfect Control

Incense Burning with a Sieve – Gentle Warmth, Full Fragrance, and Perfect Control

Many people start burning incense with charcoal but quickly realize: The heat is often too intense. Resins burn, herbs turn black, and the fragrance loses its delicate nuances. When burning incense with the sieve, on the other hand, a gentle, even warmth is created by the tea light underneath. The frankincense melts slightly – without smoking – and thus unfolds its full, clear aroma. This method is ideal for high-quality incense such as our Hojari Frankincense from Oman and enables a calm, controlled, and harmonious incense burning experience.

What Makes our Incense Sieve so Special

Our design-protected flower-shaped incense sieve was developed in the Hinterseer nature workshop with great attention to detail. The two sides of the sieve are deliberately designed differently: The open side gets warmer and is perfect for resins, while the closed side optimally showcases herbs, woods, and blossoms. The flexible petals make it easy to regulate the temperature – bent upwards for more heat, bent downwards for gentler incense burning. This simple but highly effective technique ensures that every incense burning smells exactly as it should.

Application – Simple Technique, Great Effect

The sieve is placed on a heat-resistant, not too high vessel – a diameter in which the petals rest securely is ideal. Then, about three fingers full of incense are roughly distributed on the sieve: frankincense on the open side, herbs and blossoms on the closed side. It is important that the incense only lightly steams and melts, never smokes. If the sieve gets too hot, you can briefly pull it aside or bend the leaves further down. If it is too cool, the leaves are bent upwards so that the sieve sits closer to the tea light. With a few movements, the perfect temperature can be set.

Care & Cleaning – for a Lasting Harmonious Incense Burning Experience

The outer leaves ensure that the sieve provides long-lasting enjoyment and should be cleaned regularly. Resin and herb residues can affect the heat and clog the holes. After each, but at the latest every fourth use, we recommend cleaning the sieve thoroughly. Residues can be easily removed with a wire brush, a spatula, or a toothpick. Especially important: clear any clogged holes so that the sieve remains open and the frankincense can continue to melt gently. A well-maintained sieve always ensures a clear, pleasant fragrance – exactly as it should be.

Conclusion – Incense Burning with Sensitivity and Tradition

Our incense sieve is more than just a practical tool: It was developed from daily experience and a love of incense burning and combines tradition, craftsmanship, and modern application. Whether for Hojari frankincense, our own incense blends, or fine herbs – the sieve brings all incense materials into ideal balance and creates an atmosphere of calm, clarity, and mindfulness. An indispensable utensil for anyone who wants to experience incense burning consciously and with feeling.
